I had a wonderful time participating in the Revolutionary Girl Utena @blackrosezine ,  “Confessional Theatre!”, representing my favorite arc and favorite criminally underrated side character, Mitsuru Tsuwabuki! I love Tsuwabuki because while he’s mostly there along with Nanami for comic relief, I feel like his episodes really do sum up the Themes™ of Utena really well–of the frustration of masculine gender roles, the tension that comes from the presumed helplessness of youth, and the misguided attempts at what that “adulthood” even entails.
